Book disposals

Surplus books

Timetable World is disposing of surplus timetable books, available to purchase here.  Proceeds go towards the project, mainly the cost of a storage unit for incoming material.  All these timetables have been digitised and are also available to purchase and download as PDF files.

There should be some bargains in there.  Most books are in good condition with secure bindings, but you should be able to see from the cover images those that have been well-used.  Many of the books were collected by the Railway Club library in High Holborn, London, then held by the RCTS when the club closed.  Library stamps and stickers may be present but most have hardly been opened.

The books are supplied as-is.  The pull-out maps may or may not be included.

Shipping

Please read carefully this section about the shipping options, because they may differ from how most online companies operate.

Books are heavy.  Shipping is only offered to UK addresses using DPD.  We choose to use DPD's shop-to-shop service because it is good value for heavy parcels, and we have had a good experience when using it for incoming timetable donations.  DPD also offers a shop-to-home service at a higher price.  Please select this option if pick-up from a nearby shop is not possible.

Using the shop-to-shop service is free.  Home delivery is £3.00 - which applies to the whole order, no matter how many books are purchased.

Before ordering, please check the DPD website for your most convenient pick-up shop.  This is the shipping address we require to complete your order, and is entered at the checkout.

It may take about a week before your order is shipped. DPD sends an email alerting you that it has been dropped off, and typically takes 48 hours to be ready for collection.

There are no books currently on the disposal list.
