Description
Transport for London’s Standards for TfL Products set design and material requirements to ensure a consistent, modern and durable corporate identity across the network. Revised from the original 1999 edition, the document prescribes approved products for identification (totems, roundels, taxi poles, bus flags, platform and directional signage), customer information (clocks, Countdown displays, LED ticket signs, poster frames, leaflet racks, whiteboards), gateline and ticketing equipment (attendant points, UTS gates, manual gates, roadside ticket machines), safety and security fittings (Help points, CCTV, PA, barriers, bollards, cable management) and furniture (seating types, bicycle racks, windbreaks, litter bins, lighting and tree surrounds). Designs prioritise visibility, accessibility, modularity and minimal site work, using robust materials—aluminium, stainless steel, vitreous enamel, polycarbonate—with powder-coated or self-cleaning finishes. Features discourage litter and concealment of suspect packages, ease maintenance and allow limited variation for heritage or environmental constraints. Specific technical standards and contact details for TfL Corporate Design are provided for guidance and clarification.
